Dismiss him.




"Whatever. It's nothing," you say. "It's probably just Universe Man messing with the weather again."

Your grandfather looks crestfallen. He stares at his feet. "Sorry to worry you, Sydney. Feel free to go back to what you were doing."

He continues painting and is silent no matter what you say to him. You walk dejectedly back to your room and sulk for the rest of the afternoon. You notice that your bedroom window has been painted over and roll your eyes before laying down on your bed and going to sleep. Your grandfather brings dinner to you, wakes you and leaves without saying a word.

You eat your dinner but feel bad for brushing him off. You decide to push this feeling away and go back to bed.
